Get to Know Me

My name is Rich Clark, and I am a retired music educator with over 35 years of teaching experience, ranging from grade 5 through the collegiate level. My teaching has included both vocal and instrumental music, leading students to high-quality musical performances at every level: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

After graduating from Moline Senior High School (1976), I earned an Associate of Arts with an emphasis in percussion performance from Black Hawk College (1978), a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Illinois State University (1980), and a Master of Arts in Music Education from Western Illinois University (1986). While in college, I successfully auditioned to become a performing member of the percussion section in The Knights Drum and Bugle Corps of Geneseo, IL (1978–1979).

I enjoy sharing music with others, whether in the classroom or performing in a community band, orchestra, jazz band, or Sunday morning praise band. I have had the joyful opportunity to perform and collaborate with many musicians throughout the Midwest. Beyond music, I also enjoy football, soccer, baseball, volleyball, and most of all, spending time with my family—especially my grandchildren.

Currently, I am an active member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in O’Fallon, MO. At Cornerstone, I serve as a Leadership Board member, volunteer in the Food Pantry, participate in United Methodist Men’s activities, and help with Community Dinners. I am also a member of the Handbell Choir, and I served as Interim Chancel Choir Director during the search for a permanent director.
